Rebekah Ayres is Director of People and Organisation Development at HM Revenue and Customs. HMRC is the UK’s tax, payments and customs authority, with a vital purpose: they collect the money that pays for the UK’s public services, and help families and individuals with targeted financial support. Last year they collected over £570bn – money that funds the nation’s schools, health and emergency services, and much more.
Employing over 60,000 people across the UK, HMRC is a complex organisation with a massive transformation programme. HMRC is becoming a more modern, digital organisation, moving from over 170 offices to a smaller number of Regional Centres which will be inclusive, flexible and inspiring environments.
HMRC is building a world-class OD function to support this work. The 500-strong team works alongside HR business partners in driving organisational capability through design, development and culture change activity, and innovative change in learning through its Leadership and Tax Academies.
