Robert joined Cornwall Council in 2004 as a Graduate Apprentice following the completion of his BSc(Hons) degree in Sports Science and Physiology. He initially worked as a trainee Safety Officer before the completion of his OHS Qualifications and gained Chartered status with the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH).
In 2009, he was appointed to the role of Senior Safety Officer within Health, Safety and Well-being and then in 2012, he assumed responsibility for the Operational Health & Safety, Occupational Health and Well-being teams.
Robert has a key passion for the health and well-being and sees it as an integral part of business growth and development. This passion assisted the council in winning the Best Health and Well-being Initiative at the National CIPD Awards in 2017.
