Jonny Gifford @jonnygiff is Senior Advisor for Organisational Behaviour at the CIPD. He has a long record of conducting applied research into employment and people management, including in previous roles at Westminster Business School, the Institute for Employment Studies and Roffey Park Institute. His research interests include job quality, workplace conflict, and behavioural science insights into HR practices such as recruitment, reward, performance management and ethical behaviour. He also does considerable work linking research and practice. To this end he directs the annual CIPD Applied Research Conference and is the CIPD lead for evidence-based practice, including overseeing a programme of evidence reviews. He is an Academic Member of the CIPD, a Fellow of CEBMa, the Center for Evidence-Based Management and currently working on his PhD, focused on work autonomy and management control.
