The gender pay gap conundrum – 12 months after the legislation

Gain insight from Janet Walsh, Professor of Human Resource Management, King’s College London and Julie Dennis, Head of Diversity and Inclusion, ACAS, on what we have learned from the past 12 months since the gender pay gap legislation.

While many organisations have already reported on their gap, others are still revising their communication plan. What have we learned from the past 12 months? Are we actually promoting men and paying them more than women or are there other factors underpinning the figures? What does good look like in organisations, and what guidance is out there that can help us bridge the gap? In this opening session, we’ll explore:

  • an overview of the gender pay gap figures and reasons behind it
  • the difference between equal pay and gender pay gap and how they interact
  • what good looks like and the tools that can help organisations tackle the issue
