The role of front-line managers in supporting employees’ health and wellbeing
Line managers play a crucial and central role in determining their teams’ health, happiness and engagement. Senior leaders set the tone and allocate resources for wellness initiatives, but line managers ultimately give permission to direct reports to take part in these efforts. Their role has become even more predominant during and following the pandemic mainly because employees are seeking extra support and help from them. This session will explore:
- the importance of managers to show compassion, gratitude and authenticity
- what managers should do or not do to support organisation wellbeing initiatives
- type of guidance that managers need from HR to better lead and understand employees’ wellbeing.
