Andrew Spells, Head of Well-being, British Council
Andrew Spells is Head of Wellbeing at the British Council, a global organisation with 1,000 employees in the UK and a further 9,000 in 110 countries around the world. The British Council aims to create international opportunities for the people of the UK and other countries and to build trust between them worldwide.
Andrew’s main areas of focus currently include running a global well-being awareness campaign, highlighting and addressing mental health and workplace stress issues, enhancing support for staff working in high risk environments, and improving management of sickness absence. Andrew has worked in a wide variety of operational and HR roles in the British Council in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the UK.
Andrew is a Chartered Member of the CIPD and a Fellow of the RSA.
