Emma Allen, Diversity and Inclusion Strategic Lead, Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust.
Emma has been involved in Equality and Diversity work for the whole of her career and is currently responsible for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion strategy at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust. It’s a role that she loves and is passionate about and enjoys ensuring NHS services and employment opportunities are accessible to all.
Her work covers all of the equality strands but she is particularly interested in improving the experiences trans people have when engaging with healthcare services and is a committed LGBT ally. Recently, Emma has also been devoting time to a project designed to ensure that those with a disability or who need additional support in the workplace are able to access reasonable adjustments to remove barriers to reaching their full potential at work.
Emma is fascinated by the power of storytelling and motivated by the opportunity to learn from the stories people tell about their experiences.
When not at work, she likes to travel as much as possible and see what’s going on around the world!
