Jon Dawson, Group Director of People Development, Lore Group
Listed by HR Magazine as one of the 40 most influential HR Practitioner within the UK, Jon has held a variety of senior positions within the hospitality sector and is currently the Group Director of People Development for The Lore Group, an international hospitality company operating in Europe and the United States. As a key ambassador for the hospitality industry in addition to leading the people agenda at Lore Jon is also a board member for the UKs Fair Tip Share body, a committee member for HR in Hospitality and an honorary Executive in Residence for Sheffield Hallam University Business School.
Prior to joining the Lore Group, Jon held the role of Director of Human Resources at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park London and One Hyde Park Residences leading the people strategy to successfully reopen and relaunch the hotel following a three year £100M+ renovation of the property. In 2013 Jon was part of a team that created a new luxury lifestyle brand EDITION where he assumed the role of Director of Employee Experience for The London EDITION property providing the strategic HR direction for the brand as this grew and developed. As well as leading the HR team in London Jon played a wider strategic role in working alongside the EDITION global brand team in New York driving new initiatives within the HR field and supporting the on-property HR teams in the openings of the Miami Beach and the New York EDITION properties in 2014 and 2015. In 2010 Jon opened The St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, London, as the Director of Human Resources and earlier in his career held various HR positions within Marriott International.
Jon is a Charted Fellow of the CIPD, a graduate of Sheffield Hallam University as well as a qualified Personal Strengths Total SDI Facilitator and often speaks at events organized by the CIPD and various university and hospitality industry related forums.
