Mike Robb, Group HR Manager, Crest Nicholson
Mike Robb is currently the Group HR Manager for leading Developer and House Builder Crest Nicholson Plc. Mike has worked in the Construction and Oil and Gas sectors for six years since leaving the Royal Navy in 2012 after 16 years’ service as a Logistics Officer where he served on various ships, in UK and NATO Head Quarters, on operations in Afghanistan and culminating in working with the Armed Forces Pay Review Body at the Ministry of Defence.
During his career, Mike has played a central role in many HR Change projects both within the Royal Navy and more recently in his roles since leaving the Service, many of them focusing on the recruitment, retention and engagement of employees in sectors and industries where there is a known and critical shortage of talent. Currently working on the development of an effective Employee Value Proposition at Crest, Mike is keen to share his experiences of marketing jobs in a tight recruitment market. A keen advocate of the employment of ex-Armed Forces personnel in the civilian workplace, Mike is keen to demonstrate the business advantage of dipping outside your normal talent pool in the search for top talent.
