Robert Ritchie, Head of Organisation Development, Salford University
We live in a complex and messy world. Those who are creative, humble and brave develop resilience and respond better to change. Robert is fascinated by human connection – how it develops, its power, and how it can be harnessed to bring out human strengths and leadership.
His work centres around cultivating the right mindsets and behaviours in people, to enable them to engage and contribute wholeheartedly to their organisations. His human-centred design approach draws on contemporary practices in neuroscience, storytelling and appreciative inquiry.
Robert has held leadership roles in the retail, financial services and energy sectors, and has also lived and worked internationally. He is currently Head of Organisational Development at the University of Salford and leads a team who, together have created a unique OD model to strengthen Connection, Community and Citizenship across the organisation.
A regular contributor to human development publications and discussions, Robert also likes to research different cultures and gatherings to enrich his work. He is currently writing his first book on Human Connection.
