Scott D. McArthur – Executive Coach, Writer and TEDx Speaker
Scott offers an unusual mix of experience, having worked as a research scientist, HR director, business consultant, rock musical producer, writer, keynote and TEDx speaker.
Holding an undergraduate degree in Biology/Psychology and a Masters degrees in Psychology & Business, Scott has published in a wide range of disciplines from pioneering microscopy techniques and disease detection to leadership development, HR, organisational psychology, human resources, change management and rock music. He is also a strong advocate of narrowing the “knowing-doing gap” between academic rigour and workplace application.
In the past 15 years, Scott has consulted and spoken in a range of industries in Europe, North America and Asia for over 100 companies. He has worked with many national and international organisations including government bodies (UK Ministry of Defence), major retailers (eg. M&S, Co-Op and Sainsbury’s), IT firms (eg. Atos and Capgemini), global organisations (eg. PwC, Swiss Re and Valspar) and sporting organisations (eg. UK Olympic Authority and the British Olympic Bobsleigh Team). Scott currently mentors & coaches industry leaders in these industries. He is also an associate of Cranfield Business School and helps entrepreneurs and SMEs in his role as a Vistage speaker.
Scott’s business, Sculpture Consulting Ltd, helps organisations make sense of themselves by imagining how they might connect and learn from our most powerful sensemaking mechanisms those being science and the humanities. This is supported by a suite of challenging keynotes and development programmes which utilise pioneering concepts such as mindfulness, visual dialogue and behavioural economics.
Scott is currently curating “The verse at the heart of DiVERSity” an evening of spoken word, hip-hop and poetry to take place in London late in 2018. He is also a visiting lecturer at the universities of Birmingham and Sussex, has recently joined Boroughmuir Rugby club’s performance board and is writing a book called “The HR Paradox”.
“Scott bring a huge amount of creativity and passion to his speaking engagements. He provides deep expert insight into employee engagement and communication. He is not afraid to challenge his senior clients to achieve superior results.” Ursula Morgenstern (CEO, Atos Germany)
