Sonya Wallbank, Director of HR and OD, Department of Health and Social Care – UK PPE COVID 19 Clinical Health and Wellbeing Lead, NHS England and NHS Improvement
Dr Sonya Wallbank DClinPsy FCIPD is the Director or HR & OD for the Department of Health and Social Security leading HR practice, health and wellbeing for UK PPE. She has a clinical background as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist specialising in workforce resilience and restorative approaches to wellbeing. During the response to Covid’19 she has led the health and wellbeing response for NHS staff in England working with local and regional organisations to ensure staff giving there all during the pandemic are also receiving an award winning health and wellbeing service.
She is the co-chair of the Association of Clinical Psychologists-UK Leadership Network and has enjoyed a career spanning NHS England and Improvement, Department of Health & Social Care, Strategic Health authorities and working directly with organisations undertaking complex culture change and trying to improve the wellbeing of their people both here in the UK as well as Australia and the USA.
She has authored a range of materials to enable organisations to embed their own approach to restorative supervision and continues to lecture on the mental health benefits for staff groups of focusing supervision on the individual person and their needs not just the work they are involved in.
