Head of Reward and Recognition, British Heart Foundation
Sarita Coleman is an experienced HR professional with over 20 years in the not-for-profit sector, where she has held both operational and strategic roles. Her career has been driven by a deep passion for reward and recognition, and the meaningful impact these can have on employee engagement and organisational culture.
Sarita joined the British Heart Foundation just over a year ago as Head of Reward and Recognition, where she leads the development and delivery of innovative reward strategies aligned with the charity’s values and mission.
Prior to this, she was Head of Reward at the RSPCA, where she led a transformation of the organisation’s reward framework, making it more transparent, equitable, and aligned with employee feedback.
Sarita spent 16 years at The Institute of Cancer Research, progressing through a variety of roles including HR Information Advisor, HR Projects Manager, and ultimately Head of Reward and Systems, where she played a key role in modernising HR systems and reward practices.
She holds a degree in Statistics and Geography, and is a Chartered Member of the CIPD, reflecting her commitment to professional excellence in the field of human resources.
