Bradley Horrocks

Assistant Data Workforce Analyst, University of Manchester

My data analysis journey began just last year, when I joined the Workforce Planning & Talent team at The University of Manchester. In my time there, I have applied my problem-solving skills to an array of areas within workforce data. I play an important role in creating, testing and maintaining our suite of data products, which have an emphasis on being easy to use, insightful and contribute to decision-making. As part of my role, I explore and understand new data sources, working with stakeholders to define the question they would like to solve. This work allows me ultimately to visualise and share my discoveries with colleagues which bring fresh insights to the organisation.

I enjoy sharing and finding information with colleagues and fellow analysts. I co-hosted a talk for our internal analyst network on how to reach the intended audience for a data product, and I frequently attend wider networking events to learn about best practice and emerging technology.

Outside of my role, I have an educational background in Mathematics, and I like to embrace my neurodiversity. My proudest moment to date was when I got to utilise my arithmetic skills on the TV game show ‘Countdown’, where I became the series 77 runner-up!
