Caroline Carruthers

Caroline Carruthers is Director of Human Resources at Police Scotland. An accomplished HR leader with more than two decades of experience, she has worked globally and across the UK private sector, with experience spanning retail, oil and gas, legal, financial services, mining, and technology.

Prior to joining Police Scotland, Caroline held Senior HR Director roles at Weir Group PLC and Aberdeen Investments PLC. A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), she brings together strategic people leadership, commercial acumen and extensive experience gained across complex organisations and sectors.

Caroline holds a BA (Hons) in Human Resource Management and is currently undertaking the Chief Human Resources Officer Programme at Cambridge Judge Business School.

Alongside her executive career, Caroline is a Board member of Cancer Research UK Business Beats Cancer and an Executive Advisor to the Scottish HR Leadership group.
