Gavin Oates

Gavin Oattes is an International Keynote Speaker and Bestselling Author.

He began his career as a primary school teacher before somehow finding his way into stand-up comedy, writing, business and onto stages around the world.

Today, Gavin is an international keynote speaker, bestselling author and Managing Director of Tree of Knowledge. His books include Confidently Lost, Shine, Life Will See You Now and Diary of a Brilliant Kid. Over the past two decades, he’s worked with hundreds of thousands of people, from schoolchildren to senior leaders in some of the world’s biggest organisations.

The primary school classroom has never really left him. Gavin believes grown-ups have every bit as much to learn from young people as they have from us, particularly about curiosity, courage, joy and not taking ourselves quite so seriously.

His work explores leadership, performance, wellbeing, change and the glorious mess of being human. Underneath it all is one simple belief: We’re all just people trying to do good stuff. You can expect stories, psychology, laughter and absolutely no inspirational quotes over pictures of mountains.
