Phil Sartain

Phil is an Early Careers Talent Acquisition Leader at Aon who a leading global professional services firm providing a broad range of risk, retirement and health solutions.

He has spent the past 20 years supporting young people from a diverse range of backgrounds to access career and development opportunities across a variety of industries. He began his career in youth marketing and working for Education charities, before moving into in-house early careers recruitment and development for Accenture, Aberdeen Asset Management and now Aon.

Aon run large apprenticeship, internship, graduate programmes across the UK and globally.  Most recently Phil lead the launch of a new three day, in-person Work Insight Programme, which over 1,600 students between 16-18 years old, primarily from lower socioeconomic backgrounds, have completed since its inception in February 2023.

Phil and his team at Aon receive regular external recognition for the work.  Most recently in 2024 they have been awarded “Best Work Experience or Internship programme” by the Institute of Student Employers, “Best Apprenticeship in Financial Services” at the Apprenticeship Guide Awards and “Diversity and Inclusion Excellence Award” at the Insurance Times Awards. 

As a committee member of Aon’s Pride network, Phil is passionate about inclusion in the workplace, and opening access to career paths regardless of background or personal characteristics.
