Serena Barnatt

Serena is an experienced leader in NHS Health and Social care, with more than 25 years' service across roles at various levels. Throughout her career, she has successfully led teams, managed complex services, and provided strategic HR leadership on significant projects such as the transfer of prison health care in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and the National Treatment Centre Expansion programme for NHS Golden Jubilee.

As part of the integration between health and social care, Serena was appointed to a leadership position between the NHS and Local Government, as the Head of People and Change for the West Dunbartonshire Health and Social Care Partnership. She has worked as Executive Director of Workforce at NHS Golden Jubilee and currently holds the role of Director of HR and Organisational Development at NHS National Services Scotland, which  also has responsibility for delivery of its HR services to Public Health Scotland.

Serena’s expertise and commitment continue to drive workforce and organisational improvement throughout the sector with her input and participation into the Industry Advisory Group for HRM at Glasgow Caledonian University and more recently being presented the People Development Partner Status by the CIPD. This is a notable achievement, with National Services Scotland being one of the first organisations operating wholly in Scotland to receive this award.
