Analia Alvarez

L&D and Operations Officer, Sutton Housing Partnership

Originally from Argentina, I began my career there as a teacher of English as a Foreign Language before relocating to the UK in 2001. After working as a sales assistant at Harrods, Selfridges, and Royal Caribbean, I launched my career as an Executive Assistant in 2005, eventually transitioning to corporate roles by 2008 at Visa, Mastercard, a 10-year-tenure at American Express and later BT, taking on significant HR responsibilities alongside i my core duties.

In 2023, I took a bold step to deepen my expertise in HR by investing my savings in the CIPD Level 5 in People Management and in the DE Strategies for Business Impact at the prestigious University of Cambridge, where I also had the opportunity to work. What a wonderful way to start my HR career!

I’m incredibly grateful for all the opportunities I’ve had and to purposefully transition into HR—a field that aligns perfectly with my passion for continuous education and personal growth.

Outside of work, I’m drawn to nature and love activities like hiking, cycling, and travelling both in the UK and abroad. I’m also passionate about wellbeing, with a keen interest in mindfulness, nutrition, and the use of food as medicine. I recently began volunteering as a mentor for young adults, supporting them life and career-wise.
