Claire Morgan

Head of People, ClwydAlyn Housing

I have recently obtained my Chartered Fellowship of the CIPD and have a 20+ year career as a HR professional in the Social Housing and Higher Education sectors. As Head of People, I am responsible for all HR activity, staff wellbeing, recruitment, pay and reward, and employability. I am also responsible for HR systems and data, and as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, work on a range of strategic priorities to help deliver ClwydAlyn’s Corporate Plan. I develop and deliver our People Strategy

I have led our approach to values-based recruitment and contributed to the transformation and development of ClwydAlyn’s culture. Why do I do what I do? Funnily enough, I didn’t want to work in HR while I was an undergraduate – I wanted to be an accountant! I happened into a HR role after graduating, and I immediately found my calling – doing all recruitment in a university back then. Over the years, I have had some inspiring managers and colleagues, who have helped me become the HR professional I am today. I always want to get the best out of people and see them develop and grow, providing opportunities to make a difference and work collaboratively with people from so many different backgrounds to achieve that aim. As far as I’m concerned, every day is a learning day!
