World Wide Public Sector Chief Technology Officer (Government), Microsoft

Greg Wilson is Microsoft Worldwide Public Sector’s Chief Technology Officer for Governments. His role is to help Public Sector Government clients and partners to work with Microsoft technologies to achieve more by empowering growth, innovation and digital transformation using AI and the Microsoft Hyperscale Cloud. He oversees support and deals around the globe for Government Public Finance, Public Safety and Justice, Critical Infrastructure and Public Health and Social Services Partners and Customers.  Prior to his current role he was Microsoft UK’s National Technology Officer and focused predominantly on the National Security sector cloud, data and AI solutions.

Greg is a former senior Royal Signals Officer, who commanded information and cyber professionals on operations and in barracks from Squadron command to Brigade command level throughout his military career. In his military staff appointments, he worked in strategy, capability and acquisition roles within MOD, Navy Command and Army Headquarters.   He was also one of the UK Government Public Sector Major Programme Review Team Leaders, who reviewed Government Major Procurement Programmes on behalf of the UK Cabinet Office for a range of UK Government Departments.   

A Chartered Engineer and Fellow Chartered IT Professional and Fellow and Chartered Manager. He is the Chair of the Royal Signals Institute and a Colonel Commandant of the Royal Signals.  He is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Flagship Programme and the UK military’s Higher Command and Staff Course.
