Director - Global Equity, Diversity & Inclusion, Boeing Global

Israil Bryan is the Director, Global Equity, Diversity and Inclusion for Boeing Global where she is responsible for leading and accelerating progress across 65 countries.  As a member of the Boeing Global HR Leadership team, Israil has played a pivotal role in creating an inclusive workplace culture through our habits of Seek, Speak & Listen (SS&L): These are three simple habits that Boeing is building and embedding to help all employees live our values, accomplish our priorities and build a culture of trust, care and connection.

As a respected global thought leader and vocal advocate for diversity, Israil was invited to join the Global Aviation and Aerospace Skills Taskforce which was created as a collaborative platform between States and Industry to address the challenges and opportunities related to the future workforce needs and skills in the aviation and aerospace industry. Israil serves as Co-chair of the Workplace Environment and Culture workstream which will be responsible for developing industry wide recommendations for promoting a safe, inclusive, diverse and accessible workplace environment and culture.

Prior to her role at Boeing, Israil was the Regional Head of Diversity and Inclusion at Standard Chartered Bank, responsible for EMEA.  In her 4 years at Standard Chartered Israil led pioneering research into ‘Menopause in the workplace: Impact on women in Financial Services’, in partnership with the Financial Services Skills Commission involving over 2,400 employees across 105 financial services organisations in the UK. The recommendations from the research have since been adopted by the HM Treasury Women in Finance Charter as leading practice for the financial services sector. Israil’s leadership and focus has helped accelerate the progress in D&I and proactively drive the culture of inclusion through targeted interventions leading to the bank being recognised as a 2021 Diversity Leader by the Financial Times, ranked top 20 across financial services and ranked by Forbes as one of the ‘World’s Best Employers’.

Israil joined Standard Chartered in May 2018 from Skanska, a global construction and engineering company, where she was the UK D&I Lead with responsibility for establishing, leading and executing their first D&I strategy. She developed innovative and industry-leading initiatives which tangibly increased gender and ethnic diversity across the organization setting a benchmark for the rest of the industry.  Her achievements were recognised through multiple awards, and she was presented with an award by Prince Harry for Skanska’s Military Engagement programme.
