Suzy McCormick FCIPD and Kulsoom Ali MCIPD

Kulsoom & Suzy are the Joint Head of Talent and Inclusion at the UK Health Security Agency, where they are responsible for the organisation’s Talent and Diversity and Inclusion strategies. They have worked together in a job share for 4 years and are keen advocates of promoting flexible working as a tool to support employers in attracting and retaining talent. They were recently featured as job share case study in People Management magazine. 

Both are experienced in crisis leadership having previously been Joint Head of Inclusion and Wellbeing at NHS Test & Trace building teams from scratch during the height of the Covid pandemic. Prior to this, Suzy held a similar role in Department for Transport where she supported cross-government teams on emergency international repatriation. During this time Kulsoom was also in a similar role at Department of Health and Social Care, leading the wellbeing response at the start of the Covid pandemic. They met each other whilst working at the Cabinet Office, where they lead areas such as Mental Health and Attendance Management for the Civil Service and supported the ‘Thriving at Work’: Farmer / Stevenson review of mental health and employers. 

Suzy holds a Masters in HR Management from London Metropolitan University and is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD. Kulsoom holds a Masters in HR Management from London South Bank University, is an experienced workplace mediator and is a Chartered Member of CIPD.
