Chris Ashe

People Advice and Support Manager, Social Security Scotland

With 17 years of experience working in various departments of the Scottish Government, Chris understands the importance of providing our people with flexibility, care, and empathy. 


Currently, Chris leads the Wellbeing Team at Social Security Scotland and also serves as the lead for the Strategic Wellbeing Group, which drives initiatives for promoting wellbeing throughout the organisation. Chris has successfully implemented initiatives like carer's cafes, creating a supportive community for carers within the workplace. Additionally, he is spearheading the introduction of additional support for men in the workplace, recognising their reluctance to seek help when needed.


Chris holds an undergraduate BA in Business and a postgraduate MSc in Human Resource Management from Strathclyde University. As a Chartered Member of CIPD, he is deeply passionate about promoting wellbeing, a value that has been integral to his career journey.
