Roger Wilson

Chief Executive, Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council

Roger Wilson has been serving as the Chief Executive of  Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council since  its inception on April 1, 2014. Before this role, he was the  Chief Executive of Coleraine Borough Council from October  2008 and previously held the position of Strategic Director with  Armagh City and District Council. Roger also has experience  in the private sector.  

He is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Directors, and a Chartered Company  Secretary. Roger holds an MBA from Ulster University and is a graduate of the Federal Executive Institute in Charlottesville,  Virginia.  

Roger co-chairs the All-Island Local Authority Forum, serves as the Deputy Chair of the Ulster Orchestra, and is a board member of Armagh Observatory and Planetarium, Southern  Area Hospice Services, Business in the Community, and the Chief Executives Forum.  

Throughout his career, Roger has led and participated in numerous strategic events and projects that have significantly contributed to the economic, social, and physical regeneration of local areas.  

Roger was awarded Director of the Year (Public Sector) by the  Institute of Directors (IoD) NI in 2021 and received an OBE in the New Year's Honours in recognition of his contributions to public service in Northern Ireland.
