Before joining the Civil Service in 2019 to manage their commercial assessment centres, James cultivated an extraordinary career spanning diverse sectors. His professional journey includes transformative roles in change management at the London Fire Brigade post-Grenfell, leading learning and development at the Victoria & Albert Museum, and managing national charities. His eclectic background—from managing international orchestra tours to plumbing and door-to-door sales,—uniquely positions him to understand organizational dynamics.

With degrees in Organisational Consulting and Drama, and credentials as a qualified mediator, investigator, and executive coach, James is a passionate advocate for equality, diversity, and inclusion. His professional and ethical philosophy centres on creating workplace environments where individuals feel trusted, empowered, and genuinely valued.
