Andrew Dodman

Andy Dodman is the Assistant Chief Executive and Chief HR Officer at Leeds City Council, the second largest local authority in the UK. 

He leads its People & Business Support functions, the Digital/IT Service and Marketing and Communications.

Andy moved into local government in 2019 following a successful career at The University of Sheffield. At Sheffield he was the Director of Human Resources and more recently its Chief Operating Officer. He has also worked in the housing sector and the NHS.

Andy is an experienced strategic and HR leader and practitioner. He was educated at the University of Bath (BSc), the University of Leeds (MBA) and is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD.

Outside of work he is an avid runner, a reluctant cyclist and a struggling swimmer.
