Ian Sumner

Ian Sumner is the Learning Experience and Programme Manager at the CIPD, where he leads a multidisciplinary team of instructional designers, technologists and content producers. He is responsible for shaping and delivering the CIPD’s learning product roadmap, embedding scalable production processes and driving innovation across digital and blended learning formats.

Prior to joining the CIPD, Ian held senior digital learning roles at Heathrow and City & Guilds, and worked as a freelance learning consultant supporting organisations across sectors to develop impactful online and blended learning strategies. With twenty years’ experience in digital learning, Ian is passionate about the use of learning design and technology to develop scalable solutions.
