The Chambers of Robin Somerville

Robin helps organisations handle their most serious, sensitive and complex people issues. Robin is a barrister; workplace investigator; disciplinary, grievance and appeal chair and mediator. He has been involved in more than 1,000 cases over 25 years in one forum or another. Robin's previous cases as an investigator, hearing chair or mediator have included bullying and harassment, sexual misconduct, whistleblowing, fraud and dishonesty, discrimination and even witchcraft! His cases normally involve CEOs, board directors or other senior managers. In addition to casework, Robin delivers in house masterclasses and practitioner-led training for HR teams and managers in conducting investigations and chairing hearings. Robin has worked for some of the largest international and UK organisations through to small not-for profits, in the academic, healthcare, financial services, technology, construction and other sectors. Robin is the author of The Workplace and Corporate Investigator’s Handbook and the co-author of the soon to be released Judgecraft: the art of sound decision making. He will also shortly be releasing a 10 episode series of videos on investigations. Robin normally offers fixed fees giving organisations predictability and transparency. At ACE, Robin is hosting the mock tribunal hearing.
