Dan Cooper

Starting his career as a Prison Officer at HMP Leeds in 1996 Dan has progressed through the ranks, working at all Operational Grades in 9 prisons across the Northwest and Yorkshire. His recent experiences have included Governing HMP Kirkham, HMP/ YOI Thorn Cross, HMP Risley and presently HMP/YOI Preston. Dan has a keen interest in leadership development, recently achieving an MBA from Coventry University Business School, with areas of research being strategy, people and system leadership. Alongside his role in the prison Dan is the chair of the MAPPA SMB for Lancashire and actively works to support partnerships in the criminal justice sector with the ambition of connecting people and organisations within the wider system to reduce re-offending and protect the public.
