Emily Abbott

Emily Abbott is a professional with a decade of experience driving social change and promoting health and wellbeing through intergenerational approaches. As Co-Founder of Intergenerational England, she has led initiatives to bridge generational divides, including the Intergenerational Housing Taskforce, workforce development, and building partnerships across housing, care, health, and education sectors.

In her role as Programme Director at Intergenerational Music Making (IMM), Emily has design and delivered 900+ projects, engaging 78,000 people, and co-created national award-winning initiatives such as Together with Music and Talking Generations. Her work focuses on tackling community inequalities and fostering intergenerational connections.

Emily’s expertise also extends to research and strategic development, collaborating with institutions like London South Bank Centre and consulting across housing, care, and education. She holds an MA in Music and International Development from SOAS, London, and is dedicated to creating social impact through innovative solutions and partnerships.
