Idris Arshad

A passionate HR leader in the charity sector who advocates to uplift the reputation and showcase the value of HR, especially how HR helps the people who charities are set up to serve.  Idris is listed in the Top 10 HR Most Influential Practitioner 2024.  He is currently the Head of People for Asthma + Lung UK.  Idris's work involves leading the People team across the full remit of HR, Internal Communications and Office Management to help the organisation in supporting people with asthma and lung conditions. Idris has completed a Masters education in HR and holds Chartered membership with the CIPD.  Idris has experience of being a trustee of a charity.  He enjoys teaching and regularly teaches HR students to gain their CIPD qualifications.   Idris’s views and comments on HR are regularly seen in media outlets and on his LinkedIn.

Idris is proud of coaching and partnering with leaders in improving the leadership of front-line services to help better serve the people in need.  Idris has led the EDI and Wellbeing agenda strongly throughout his career and most recently in the hospice and homelessness sectors.  Idris has chaired EDI committees, increased the diversity of workforce representation and improved wellbeing cultures.
