Kat Barrett

Kat Barrett is Head of Gateway Programmes at Wincanton. Kat is responsible for leading initiatives that cultivate an inclusive culture, prioritising safety, well-being, and the empowerment of local communities through strong collaborations with suppliers and partners. In her role Kat is passionate about creating opportunities for individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those from the military, prison systems and individuals with disabilities. Kat has previously help senior HR roles for organisations including Leonardo and EDF.

With an extensive background in high-volume recruitment and HR management, Kat has developed essential tools to allow alignment with HR strategies that meet with business objectives. This has been achieved through meticulous stakeholder communication and a comprehensive understanding of business needs. Her passion for diversity and inclusion serves as a foundation of her approach, guaranteeing that the right person is positioned in the right job at the right time. A significant aspect of her leadership is supporting offender rehabilitation through the SHINE Programme, emphasising Wincanton's dedication to social responsibility and positive societal impact.
