Pam Flynn

Chief People Officer, Manchester Metropolitan University

Pam is Chief People Officer at Manchester Metropolitan University and leads the People and Organisational Development Directorate to support the University’s core aim of transforming lives through an excellent student experience and delivering research with impact. 


Pam is responsible for the University’s People Strategies, which include talent attraction and management, organisational change and transformation, performance leadership, reward, engagement and wellbeing, and equity, diversity and inclusion. 

Pam has successfully led significant organisational change and cultural transformation and has delivered real step change in employee engagement and talent development.


Pam started her career initially in the financial services sector before moving into the higher education sector. Having spent the majority of her career in higher education Pam has also held senior HR positions at the University of Sunderland and Leeds Beckett in addition to a secondment role as a faculty Chief Operating Officer.


Pam is currently the North West Chair of Universities HR (UHR) and is a qualified executive coach and mentor who enjoys coaching and mentoring a range of people across her own institution and beyond.
